How to Correct or Update Aadhaar Details?

Aadhaar Card Correction through offline mediums?
- In the offline medium, the applicant can only change the below mentioned details such as:
- Name
- Address
- Date of Birth
- Mobile Number
- Gender

- The other method correct the Aadhaar card offline is by visiting the Aadhaar Enrollment center
You can also visit the nearest Aadhaar Enrollment Center and submit your relevant documents along with identity proofs to update your information. For ID proofs, you can use a PAN card, driving license, bank passbook, voter ID card, passport, election card, etc.
- Additionally, you will need to fill out an Aadhaar Enrolment Correction form with the accurate details and attach the required attested documents.
- Once you have completed the form, you must get your biometric scans done.
- The verification of the form and biometric scans will be done at the enrollment center, along with taking a new photograph of the applicant.
- The processing fee for this is INR 25, which needs to be paid after the submission of the form.
- After submitting your form, a Unique Identification Number will be generated, similar to an enrollment slip.
- With this number, you can track the status of your request.
- Once the information is updated, you will receive your updated Aadhaar card with the corrected details.
- Although it takes 30 days for the new Aadhaar card to arrive, if it is urgently required, the applicant can download the modified copy from the online portal and use it as it is legally authorized.
How to Correct Aadhaar Card Information Online:
As per UIDAI, there are two methods for updating Aadhaar card information online. To update misprinted or incorrect information, follow the steps below:
- Visit the official UIDAI website at https://uidai.gov.in/.
- Under the “Aadhaar Update” heading, you’ll find an option for “Aadhaar Update Request (Online).”
- You’ll then be redirected to the Aadhaar Self Service Update Portal. This portal is one of the many touchpoints where members can update their address details in Aadhaar in just four steps:
- STEP 1: Login with Aadhaar
- STEP 2: Address Update Request
- STEP 3: Upload Documents
- STEP 4: Select BPO Service Provider and submit the request.
Please note:
Updating in step 2 also refers to modifying and rectifying the original Aadhaar card of the holder if required.
Any resident with an authorized mobile number can update their address details with the help of this UID self-service portal.
For updating the address on the Aadhaar card, members must submit scanned copies of the original proof of address or self-attested copies of documents related to Proof of Address.
The information submitted will be updated after thorough verification and authentication.
